Detoxed your body but what about your mind?

Hey good times are knocking our doors as covid cases are falling down. One of the common things which we all did in lock down is "having the delicious food at home" .Most of us here love eating good food which is delicious and fancy in presentation. As soon as we eat this delicious food, the body takes the nutrients of that food and throws away the rest of the unwanted food. However, incase body will not be able to take off that unwanted food then we fall ill and need immediate treatment.Same happens with water too, as we all have the thrust of it, we consume it and body retain as it wants and rest is being thrown automatically from the body and if not then again you are in trouble.


Once, I had met an experienced elderly coach teaching us yoga in the class and the techniques of breathing. He told us to hold our breath for a few seconds. 30 seconds passed and I looked at the coach but I found that the coach was elderly and fell asleep in between. Now we were in a dilemma, what to do, shall we release our breath and insult him or hold it more. Finally, one of the students walked towards the teacher and tapped him and then he said "Breathe out" and we took a sigh of relief ! I know it was a funny experience but as humans if we try to hold our breath for more than a minute and do not breathe out we may die too. !

Don't you think this principle needs to be followed in our life for all the negative emotions which we carry along. Emotional hurt, grudges, jealousy, feelings of hatred, revenge, anger make our mind toxic and as we keep all these emotions in our mind for long, it leads to mental disorders , phycological and physical disorders too.


Our body has this automatic process to throw the unwanted food and water from our body and we do not even realise the importance of this until unless it stops working. Why can't we replicate this automation in our mind and take off all the negative emotions which are continuously feeding in our minds. We have to cautiously work on purging these toxic emotions out from our mind.Here are few ways how you can flush it out:

  1. Write your feelings on a piece of paper and tear it off or burn it off. This may not solve the problem permanently but allows us to express ourselves and take off the negative energies from our mind.

  2. Open your heart and speak to someone who is close to you and trustworthy. Sharing our feelings helps us to take off anxiety and also it provides support and guidance to us. However, it is important to remember to share this with someone who is positive towards life

  3. Adopting the spiritual practice. This helps us to cleansing our mind, our consciousness and give us inner strength to fight with these negative and tough times.

Always remember that it's not the weight of the glass of water which hurts your hand but it is the duration for which you hold it that hurts us more. In the same way, it is better not to hold the negative emotions long and keep them aside. So "Flush" away all the negative thoughts which you are holding since long and make your Life peaceful and happy. Cheers Nitin
